We are an ecumenical organization dedicated to the Christian healing ministry. We have learned that Jesus heals today as He did when He walked the earth many centuries ago. Our members are clergy, health professionals, and lay people who feel called to make Jesus’ ministry of healing a regular part of their lives. We believe that Christian healing and competent medical practice complement each other to the benefit of the person in need. The prayer of the Order of St. Luke reflects our belief that Jesus’ ministry of healing should be a vital part of the ministry of every Christian Church regardless of denomination.
Almighty God, who inspired Your servant Luke the Physician to set forth in the Gospel the love and healing power of Your Son: Graciously continue in Your Church the love and power to heal, to the praise and glory of Your Name, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
The emblem of the Order of St. Luke is a cross within a circle, which together make an acrostic.
The motto is in Latin:
JESU ESTO MIHI JESUS-
DUX - LUX - REX - LEX
Roughly translated this means:
“O Jesus, be to me
my Savior (Healer),
my Leader, my Light,
my King, and my Law.”
Life’s greatest adventure awaits you when Jesus Christ becomes your leader!
- KING –
- LAW –
- AND SAVIOR (HEALER).
